We’re excited to announce that last week we officially kicked off Llanw’s Apprenticeship Academy by inviting six new apprentices and eight Llanw colleagues who volunteered as mentors to get to know each other over some pizza.
Llanw is dedicated to enhancing Bridgend and Wales. By investing in apprenticeships, we aim to expand our workforce while providing valuable career opportunities to local individuals.
During the event, we ran through the ‘need to knows’ and asked the mentors to do a quick introduction into themselves and their trades. This was a great way to get everyone chatting, especially as some of the mentors also started as apprentices with us.
Our apprentices will start in September 2024, lasting 2 to 3 years. They’ll be put straight out to work on repairs beside our experienced Llanw colleagues to help them learn as they go, build confidence and develop a relationship with you. Give them a hello if you see them around.
Lastly, thank you to our Llanw volunteers for their warm welcome to the recruits. Their ability to inspire others in such a relaxed and approachable manner is key to helping guide the next generation.
We’re aiming to offer annual apprenticeship opportunities for those in and around Bridgend, so keep an eye out if you want to join next year’s cohort.
