Proof of quality: We’ve secured key fire door accreditation!

We’re proud to have achieved accreditation from the Institute of Fire Certification (IFC), a leading authority that assesses the quality and safety of fire protection-related work. This achievement is proof of our competence installing and maintaining fire doors.

More money and smoother services

Achieving IFC accreditation will benefit you – our customers – and our business:

  • Installing fire doors through subcontractors can cost around £2,500 per door. By doing this ourselves, we can invest more money into improving your homes and communities.
  • We can respond faster to emergency repairs, like when doors are damaged or forced open by emergency services.
  • This accreditation also opens the door to exploring more service areas, like fire stopping and composite door installations.

What this means for you

Our team has the expertise and authority to sign off on our own fire doors, giving you confidence that the work in your home is done safely and correctly. It allows us to deliver services more efficiently and maintain a friendly, recognisable face when we visit your home.

A gruelling process

To prepare for the assessment, the team developed robust policies, introduced a specialist fire protection software, and prepared detailed documents and guides for the assessor. It was hard work, but the team’s effort paid off. Not only did we pass, but we gained over 90% pass rate with only one minor advisory picked up during the internal audit, a technical wording issue in our public liability documentation.

What’s next?

Achieving IFC accreditation is just the beginning. We are already planning the next steps and training, including:

  • MCS certification – renewable energy technologies
  • Level 3 City and Guilds Solar PV – broadening the skills of our trades team.
  • Further IFC training to stay up to date
  • IFE Level 3 course – another opportunity for professional growth.

This accreditation reinforces our commitment to keeping you – our customers – safe, delivering high-quality work, and supporting colleagues to develop their skills.
